Map zoom issue

What I intended to do was zoom out my map with the recipe. Used map in the center and eight pieces of paper around it.

What actually happened was: Paper is consumed and the map doesn't zoom out as intended. This happens about 50% of the time.

Reproduce:
1. Create a map.
2. Use the map.
3. Attempt to zoom map out.*

It works sometimes for me. Not every time as it had prior to 1.7.2
