Inventory duplication death exploit

Playing on a vanilla 1.7.2 server, someone had sent pigmen through to the servers spawn portal and aggroed them, I was attacked by the last remaining one and tried to enderpearl away, I realised I had 2 hearts remaining so I disconnected and gave time for the pearl to land, logged back on and I was roughly where I was before pearling, expecting to be dead, but I had all my stuff, I endepearled towards my base, so I went back to go get some things from inside, but my inventory, everything I had then, was all over the ground as if I had died.

Basically, a duplication glitch.
