Lines in hand-held items since Minecraft 1.6

I've noticed that since Minecraft version 1.6 came out, there were annoying lines in hand-held items (see attachment). I've tried everything, changed settings in my graphic driver but nothing worked. My friends were having this problem too, so i think this is a bug in Minecraft.
