spreading of fire with surface lava pools

fire spreads on surface lava pools, when grass is near by. at one point the fire had spread to about 10 blocks away from the lava source. a picture of the area it happened at. im not even sure this is a bug, just at one point there was a huge area on fire. and i was late taking the screenshot
