Can't chat in multiplayer

*What I expected to happen was for me to type my message and press enter so it would go through.

*What actually happened was when I pressed enter it said "Cannot send chat message"

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch Minecraft.
2. Join server. (Any server)
3. Try typing any message.
