World disappears or turns black when flowers are held in hand.

The glitch happens whenever a flower is selected in either the creative or survival inventories. When this glitch happens, the entire world disappears with 32-Bit Java and turns solid black, with the exception of mobs, on 64-Bit Java. The inventory is affected as well, with only a few blocks that are visible and even fewer that can be seen in color when placed.

1. I haven't heard of anyone else encountering this particular glitch, so it could just be Windows 8.
2. Possibly a glitch that happens on certain hardware.
