I cannot find my .minecraft folder for 1.6 or 1.7? where is it?

My .minecraft folder is nowhere. i found it but only some of my maps were there and thee screenshots are missing. the screenshots end at 2013-01-11 but i have taken a screenshot yesterday???!!! i play on a windows xp.
