Flipped block textures when facing South/West

I noticed this when first mining ores. When I checked it out in Creative mode almost all block textures are flipped when you are facing South and West, North and East sides are normal.

(All pictures below have a certain block with the North side on the left and the West side on the right. You can clearly see the flip between the North and West sides.)
