Gravel in Desert Villages

While playing the Snapshot 1.7.1, I found a desert village. When I saw the Village Well, I saw that instead of Sandstone, it was gravel underneath the well. I am not sure if this is suppost to happen in desert villages, but I assume not as the rest of the path was sandstone.
