Spamming /give [username] [block id] [amount] will crash the game

When /give (username) (number-id) (amount) is spammed and the number id is invalid the game will crash as seen in this video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCvq3XOhW3I

This is not the case when the new ids are used as seen in this video:
