Stuck on "logging in" when attempting to reconnect

After disconnecting from a server, attempting to reconnect to the same server (have not tried it with different servers), game sticks on logging in. Reproduced on two OSX systems as well (same version of MC, versions of Java unknown).

Nothing shows up in logs.
