Viewing maps crashes the game

When I tried to create a new map, the game crashed. The problem repeats whenever the world is loaded.

I was hovering over a void.

How to reproduce:

• Grab an empty map from the creative menu
• Click the right mouse button while holding the map in hand. Possibly you need to be over empty chunks.
