Cow breeding glitch

I was breeding my cows and they were making sexytime when I hit one of them, the baby had already been born but somehow the one I hit was able to rebreed again instantly. I have recreated this twice, I dont know if I'm just seeing things or what but its pretty weird.

How to recreate:
1) Breed 2 cows
2) Hit 1 of them when close to finishing breeding
3) Try use wheat on the one you hit
4) ?????
