Respawn System isn't working 100% of the time

When in creative, using the /kill command ends in Minecraft crashing after clicking respawn.

What I expected to happen was...:
After using the /kill command, I should respawn.

What actually happened was...:
I got to the respawn menu and when I clicked respawn, it closed down Minecraftand gave me the crash screen. I reopened Minecraft and it did the same.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use /kill on creative
2. Click Respawn
3. Minecraft closes
4. Re-open Minecraft
5. Load world that had used /kill
6. Click Respawn
