Sky Flickers during lightning storm only during the day.

The sky flickers during the day if there is a lightning storm. Only noticed it in Survival but given that its based upon weather it could also possibly affect Creative. I know it's supposed to happen for lightning but this flicker is more like a crazy light show from Skrilex or Deadmau5. Thunder only happens every 30 seconds or so while the flickering is every 2-3 seconds and messes with my eyes.
