Won't Let me join lan server

It won't let me join my lan world with my friend for this reason

Internal exception: java.io.IOException: Received string length longer than maximum allowed (89 > 64)

My IGN is woohaa2001 and my friend's is shlorken I tried doing it with different accounts and it still did the same thing (Different accounts on dif computers so I would be joining him and he would be joining me but still didn't work)
