Boat causes world to end

When I am travelling in my boat, the ocean and the entire world ends very near by. No chunks are generated and if you sail into this area you enter the void and fall forever. If you are not in the boat, however, that area generates chunks normally and the world is normal. So it is clearly related to travelling in boats.
