Screen black and cursor gone

What I expected to happen was...:
I would get a shader applied to my world

What actually happened was...:
My screen went black and my cursor was not working at all until I quit minecraft (using command-Q).

Steps to Reproduce:
1. go into a world
2. go to "super secret settings"
3. click it a few times
