alot of graphical issues with 13w38c

I am playing in the game and lose control of mouse to slow. I can not turn it to short distance with this version of minecraft.

When I had view with short distance I never had a problem playing minecraft with it. Now the fog has vanished but I have no idea as to how I can get that setting back, I knocked the Bitrate to 8 chunks to sec on the options menu but I lose mouse control to where it is slow and laggy.
