/playsound doesent work with other audio in the sound folders

When using /playsound, if i import my own audio file in the sounds folder, it will not recognize the sound and will not play if it has its own original name that is not in minecraft currently, such as a fusrodah audio file. It will not play even though its in the same folder that the sound3/random folder in .minecraft.
