Angry dogs don't count as a "Enemy sound"

I can't hear the wolf 's angry scream on survival mode or creative mode when he is attacking you when the friendly sounds are off.... Wouldn't that count as an enemy sound? Also, wolves are not attacking me on survival. they try to, but they can't hit me...
