Title Screen Freeze

Every time I boot up minecraft in the new snapshot (13w36a or b) I cannot play the game because the title screen will freeze up and instead of a panorama frozen it show a sort of grey gradient. I've tried to take a screenshot but the resulting picture shows up transparent. There is no crash report and I have to force quit the game to restart it. I don't want 1.6 to be the last version I can play. Hopefully this can be fixed soon
