Changing the direction of the pig when not holding the carrot on a stick

After gaining speed with a carrot on a stick, switch to another item except the carrot on a stick and you will see that until you stop, you can change the direction of the pig by simply moving your mouse around. Maybe it is intended, i don't know but it makes killing monsters on the pig harder then it should be...
