French keyboard symbols such as é, à, ù... are not compatible with chat

Steps to reproduce

THIS WILL ONLY WORK ON A FRENCH KEYBOARD
Open chat and attempt to type any of the following é è à ù ç ^ ¨
None of them will work, even if you have French language setting on
