Snow golems dissapearing

So i was building my self a creeper farm in minecraft 1.21.4 and the design im building is Wattles 1.21 creeper farm that uses snow golems to make creepers drop down to the killing room. I noticed everytime i returned to the creeper farm to add more floors to it, the snow golems were just gone i had blocks above them so rain didnt damage them the farm is built in a plains biome so the heat doesnt melt them. I added nametags to them cause i thought they were despawning but even then they dissapeared. So i searched it up and all i got were posts about it from seven to eight years ago. The only mods im using are Sodium, Fabric API, immediatly fast and Iris. All these are performance mods that dont affect mob spawning.
