When you hit a mob 2 times really fast, second hit doesn't deal damage

How to reproduce:

1.Trap yourself and a mob in a box

2.hit the mob 2 times really fast

Expected results:

The mob would take damage from both hits.
Observed results:

The mob doesn't take damage from the second hit.
