Minecraft wont let me play on my mac!

I have a mac version 10.4.11 everytime i try to play mc 1.6 it says i have outdated java but i cant update my java because my computer is to outdated. Does this mean i wont be able to play minecraft until i get a new computer or somehow update my current computer?
