"Brewery" is a blocked word but not "brew" or "brewing"

When I tired to input "brewery" on a sign, that text just vanished.  I tried typing in chat and it just said that it hid that message from some players.  I don't know what it is about the word brewery that Minecraft has to block but brew and brewing are fine.  It just doesn't make sense.
