Items disappear when thrown near cactus (since Alpha v1.0.6, still present in 1.21.4)

Since Alpha v1.0.6, when cacti were added to the game, there has been a persistent issue where items thrown into or near a cactus disappear. They simply vanish without a trace. This behavior is unintended. This bug has been present from Alpha v1.0.6 up to the current version, 1.21.4.
