Joining offline mode minecraft server with a username of "" (A blank username) crashes it

So I'm hosting a 1.21.4 vanilla server, I am able to log in as any username I want when the server is offline mode. If I set my username as "" (blank), I can log in, walk around for ~3 seconds, then the server shuts down with no error logs.
