Realms invite not showing

I do not have any requests showing even though my friend invited me to their realm. The invite bar is visible for me just no request. I changed my handle about a month ago so not sure if this is the issue? But they added my current handle and I have uninstalled and reinstalled Minecraft and set my privacy settings to accessible.
