getsocket

Hi, I am unable to connect to a LAN server my partner is hosting.

It comes up with the error unable to connect:getsocket.
I have tried adding exceptions to my fire wall on both PCs as well as tried joining without the fire wall active and I have reset my router and checked the ports.

I have also done a fresh install of the game and still get the same error.

Other versions of minecraft also get the same error.
