Out of Memory Crash when breaking extensive Pale Wood blocks

 
Steps to recreate based on what I did:
Create new world
Enable all experimental features
Gamemode - Creative
Commands - Enabled
Difficulty -  Normal

Create world
Locate Biome Pale Garden
Teleport to location
Give self Netherite Axe
Switch to survival and immediately started chopping down the trees. After cutting down approximately 3 full trees the game crashes and after what seems an extended time the following screen (See attached) appears. Clicking anywhere on this screen including back to title screen freeze the game completely requiring a force stop of the game via the ctrl/alt/del method.
