Glowstone turns to stone

When playing glowstone turns to stone. I have not managed to find any connection with any actions which trigger this however it has happened to me once before on a previous version. In that instance the bug remedied itself after an update. I have attempted refreshing my .jar however the bug remains. It only turns it to stone when I get within approximately 100 blocks of the glowstone. When right clicked it reverts however if I reload the map it will be stone again.
