Minecarts start bumping when going downwards fast

If you go a very high speed (not capped to 8) on a minecart when going downwards, it starts bumping every few blocks.

If you go downwards on regular rails about a 100 blocks without using any redstone you only bump every time you hit minecart speed 19, but not constantly.
