Crops and grass not growing, lava not filling cauldron any more

For the lifespan of my world so far, my crops have grown fine, dirt turned into grass blocks as normal, and lava would fill cauldrons under dripstones. Since yesterday, all of this suddenly stopped working. The seeds I plant on my farmland will not grow unless I use bonemeal on them, saplings I plant wonʻt grow, and whenever I place dirt next to grass blocks, now the grass will not spread. My cows and sheep will eat grass in their pen and the grass wonʻt return. Please help. I am playing on a 1.21 realm.
