Cannot change country when purchasing

I am trying to purchase Minecraft Java edition for Mac. I have already put in my payment info, however I cannot add my correct address, as the country is default to United States of America. I tried changing it to my country (New Zealand) however, whenever I click confirm I get the error:

"AN ERROR OCCURRED 

Oops! Looks like something went wrong. Please go back and try again.

If you keep getting this error contact customer support to get further help."
