Cannot play on servers after updating

After updating to minecraft version 1.21, I am unable to join any servers to play multiplayer.

 

When I join a server, it is super laggy I cannot click on any minigames and no one moves on my screen but the chat function is smooth and I can use my mouse to look around smoothly. However, I have checked my internet connection several times and it is working fine. I also have no problems on single player and when I try to run different versions, the problem persists
