Placing beds on blocks where the top half is inside a mob immediately deletes the bed

I figured this out on my own.
When placing the bed block, the bottom part was fine, but the top block was inside a mob. This caused the bed (both parts) to be instantly deleted and did NOT result in me obtaining the bed.
