Realms not working

So basically, my friend has a realm and its open to me and a few people. I am white listed on the server, stated and proved as he checked himself. The problem is when i try to get onto the server it says that I'm not whitelisted when I actually am. This has been happening to a lot of people on the server INCLUDING the owner of the server.
