Auto crafter does not output into opened chest

Problem
As per the title. The (auto) crafter does not output the item it produces (in my test a 'Gold Block') into the chest when I have the chest (inventory) open.

Expected behavior

Output being generated into the container/chest.

Steps to reproduce
I have not been able to reproduce the problem. In either new worlds or the same world.

Notes

The world the bug occurs in was created in 1.21-pre3 and than upgraded to 1.21-pre4.
