When an Ender Pearl lands while the game is frozen, it produces purple teleportation particles

The Bug

When an Ender Pearl thrown by a player lands while the game is frozen using the /tick freeze command, it produces purple teleportation particles, which is not what usually happens if you teleport when the game is not frozen (though this would be a cool feature).

How to Reproduce

Note that it can take a few attempts to get the particles to appear.

1. Run the /tick freeze command.
2. Throw an Ender Pearl from high up.
3. Run /tick step 5 to temporarily unfreeze the game. Keep running this command until the ender pearl hits the ground. It is also recommended to run /tick step 1 when the pearl is closer to the ground.
4. When you are teleported, unfreeze the game using the /tick unfreeze command.
5. Note how teleportation particles are produced at your location.
6. Throwing an Ender Pearl while the game is not frozen does not cause the particles to appear.
