Moving the scroll bar by clicking anywhere in its background causes it to teleport when it's no longer within that background
As you're aware, you can drag scroll bars within menus by using the mouse. This functionality remains consistent whether you initiate the click directly on the scroll bar or its background. However, if you choose the latter, the scroll bar will teleport when the cursor moves out of the background area. This behavior impacts all user interfaces that allow dragging by clicking outside of the scroll bar itself. Relates to MC-268987 and MC-138154 as these issues were introduced in 17w43a just like the issue described here.
Steps to reproduce
- Press ESC
- Click "Options"
- Click "Language..."
- Place your cursor beneath the scroll bar on the background
- Begin clicking and drag the mouse downward beneath the scroll bar background
Observed outcome: The scroll bar abruptly teleports to the bottom.
Expected outcome: The scroll bar should maintain vertical movement relative to the cursor, rather than suddenly appearing closer to it.
This issue also impacts the video settings menu, controls menu, accessibility settings, world list, multiplayer server list menu, and likely other interfaces as well.
