Workbench duplicating glitch

When i use wood to make wooden planks it gives me the planks but doesnt consume the wood, effectively duping it

What I expected to happen was...:
The wood to be consumed in order to get 4 wooden planks

What actually happened was...:
The wood still existed but it gave 4 wooden planks, so u can use the same wood block to make infine wooden planks

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open minecraft 24w18a
2. Create a world with a village in it
3. Get into the world and DONT open ur inventory so u dont get any achievements

4. Go inside the village, open a chest and if there are items that unlock achievements take them, effectively skipping the E and workbench achievement

5. Once u unlocked those go to a tree and get a wooden block

6. Craft a workbench and use the wood, you will notice it doesnt consume the wood but it gives u the 4 wooden planks

 

PS. Im not sure if that's exactly how to recreate it, thats just what happened to me.

PS. It works with everything, not only wood.
