Placing an end gateway through commands does not teleport the player to the outer end islands

Using the command /execute as @s run setblock ~ ~ ~ end_portal to teleport to the end,
using this command /execute as @s run setblock ~ ~ ~ end_gateway does not teleport the player to the outer end islands
