Duplicate crafting if you have multiples of the item in the recipe

I started a new world, and I made some planks by putting logs in the crafting UI. I got the item, but they didn't consume. I've noticed that for all recipes, if I use at least 2 of each item in the recipe, it isn't consumed.

I forced Java 22 to run this version.
