Player can destroy boats and minecarts with a sword/trident in creative mode

I placed a Minecart on a rail and left-clicked it with a sword and it disappeared!

Steps to Reproduce:

• Summon a boat and a minecart.

• /summon minecraft:boat ~2 ~ ~
  /summon minecraft:minecart ~-2 ~ ~

• Switch into creative mode and obtain a sword.
• Attempt to destroy both the boat and the minecart by using the sword.

Observed Behavior:
Boats and minecarts can be destroyed with swords in creative mode.

Expected Behavior:
Boats and minecarts would not be able to be destroyed with swords in creative mode.
