Hotbar disappears suddenly when using a nether portal

The bug

When entering a nether portal as of 1.20.5 pre-release 2, the hotbar remains on screen until the loading part of the screen shows up, in which it disappears instantly, which is disorienting.

How to fix

Make the translucent nether portal overlay render on top of the hotbar as well to smoothen this transition.
