24w11a paintings become ghost items when placed on certain spots on a wall

steps to recreate

1. grab a 4x2, 4x3, or a 4x4 painting from the creative mode inventory
2. create a wall like the image below shows (with any block)
3. switch to survival
4. place one of the paintings on the blocks with the red over it in the image shown (4x2 works for 2 of the corner blocks)

it will disappear until you open the inventory and click on the slot where it was or any normal method of bringing back a ghost item
