The "damage" command shows an error in the death message

Using the command "damage" and specifying the damage type "player_attack", the message is displayed incorrectly after the player dies. Something like "%1$s"

How to reproduce:

Enter the command ** 

/damage <playername> 1000 minecraft:player_attack

 

Expected Effect:

The player dies, and the correct death message is displayed, such as "xxx died". I think these characters are placeholders and are used to format the text. The source of the damage is not specified, so it is not displayed correctly.
